Menstruation is a very sensitive period of time for girls. They go through physical pain like cramps; backache etc. and they also have to face some hormonal change in themselves, which affect them a lot.

1. Coffee:
It is better to avoid if you have irregular period. Coffee affects the regular menstrual cycle. Caffeine found in coffee is the main reason.
2. Fatty meat:
If you have the problem of cramps and mood swing during period, avoid fatty meats. If you want to eat meat, try the fat free ones or eat fish.
3. Packaged food:
Eating packaged food like coke, bread, cream roll etc. during period can be very harmful to health. It is better to eat food, which are high in fiber during this time of the month.
4. Sugary food:
Sugary foods like cake, cookies etc. should be eaten less during period. If you crave something sweet, opt for fruits instead. Food which are high in sugar affect the menstrual cycle.
5. Ice cream:
Everyone likes ice cream and other dairy products. And women on period crave them the most and they do not think if it is good for them or not. But eating excess sugar is not good for health especially during period.
6. Processed food:
It is not beneficial to eat processed food like chips, cheese balls during period just because they taste good. Among these food too stay away from food which are high in salt content. It is better to eat food that are low in sodium during the time of the month.
